Quang Tri Province prepares to unveil a poignant and significant event - the Festival for Peace 2024. Held from July 6th, this festival transcends a mere celebration. It's a powerful testament to the enduring human spirit, a commemoration of historical milestones, and a vibrant showcase of Vietnamese culture.

A festival steeped in significance

The Festival for Peace 2024 coincides with three important historical markers:

  • 70th Anniversary of the Geneva Agreement (1954): This agreement marked the end of the First Indochina War and the temporary division of Vietnam.
  • 77th War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947): A national day in Vietnam dedicated to honoring those who sacrificed their lives for the nation's independence.
  • Leading up to the 50th Anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification (April 30, 1975): A pivotal moment in Vietnamese history that marked the end of the Vietnam War.
  • The festival theme, "Joining hands to create a peaceful world", resonates deeply. It's a call to action, urging international cooperation and understanding to prevent future conflicts.
