This event, which promotes international cultural exchange and people-to-people diplomacy, also marked significant anniversaries, including ASEAN's 57th anniversary, Vietnam’s 79th National Day, Hanoi’s 70th Liberation Day, and the 25th anniversary of Hanoi being named a "City for peace" by UNESCO. The festival’s main goal is to foster closer ties between the people of Vietnam and the ASEAN community.

Exploring the colorful exhibition spaces  

Festival-goers were treated to a vibrant and diverse atmosphere with beautifully decorated and recreated spaces. A standout feature of ASEAN Colors 2024 Friendship Cultural Festival was the Integration Pavilion, which showcased 57 creative booths from ASEAN countries, offering a range of souvenirs and traditional products.

This festival also featured the Street Flavor Pavilion, with 70 booths recreating the charm of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, complete with traditional dishes and a nostalgic ambiance. Nearby, the Village Scent Pavilion showcased 79 booths symbolizing the 79th anniversary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, highlighting regional culture and agricultural products.

Visitors were especially charmed by the recreations of iconic vehicles such as trams, cyclos, and flower-laden bicycles. The booths were thoughtfully arranged, blending modern products with traditional crafts, reflecting the festival’s theme of cultural integration.

ASEAN friendship cultural exchange music program

On the evening of August 29th, the festival’s music program kicked off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the ASEAN Cultural Colors exhibition. This was followed by a series of lively performances by embassy officials and international students, showcasing the diverse cultures of ASEAN. The audience also enjoyed a colorful costume show featuring traditional attire from ASEAN countries and a contemporary musical performance of Pinocchio 2024.

Beyond the music, ASEAN festival offered plenty of other fun activities, including a drawing contest titled "I love Hanoi - city of peace" for both international and Vietnamese children, nighttime tours of the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, and opportunities to wear traditional costumes and take photos.
