The Sen Village

Nghe An has produced many talented individuals who have made significant contributions to the country and the country. Not to mention President Ho Chi Minh, the nation's great and beloved leader.

The common name for the village where Uncle Ho grew up is Sen village, but the official name is Kim Lien village, Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province, Uncle Ho's father's hometown.

The village is located about 16 kilometers west of Vinh city center, near two mountains, Chung and Dai Hue. The relic site is approximately 205 hectares in size, with the relic sites separated by 2-10 kilometers. Sen village is now considered one of the four most important relic sites associated with President Ho Chi Minh's life and career, and has been designated as one of 23 special national monuments by the Prime Minister.

The Lotus Village Festival

The Lotus Village Festival was preceded by the Festival "Singing from the Lotus Village",which began in May 1982 and was later upgraded to the Lotus Village Festival, which is held annually on a provincial scale and every five years on a national scale. The festival, held on Uncle Ho's birthday (May 19), is a significant cultural event in the people's spiritual lives. This is an opportunity for the people of the country as a whole, and the people of Nghe An in particular, to express their deep admiration and gratitude to Uncle Ho.

Interesting activities at the Lotus Village Festival

The Lotus Village Festival will be held from May 14 to 28, 2022, with many unique, rich, and meaningful activities and events planned, with the participation and coordination of many agencies, units, and individuals from across the country.

In 2022, the Lotus Village Festival will include the following activities: a flower offering ceremony in front of Uncle Ho's Monument at Ho Chi Minh Square; a flower and incense offering ceremony at President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House and Chung Son Temple; a procession of Uncle Ho's photo from the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House at Kim Lien Special National Monument to the Sen Lang Sen stadium; the opening ceremony of the Lotus Village Festival and the "National Tuong and Folk Music Festival 2022"; summarizing the festival at Ho Chi Minh Square. The National Tuong and Folk Music Festival in 2022 was held for the first time in Nghe An.
