Vietnamese Women's Day - A special event in Vietnam

Vietnamese Women's Day is celebrated every year on October 20th to honor the contributions of women to society and to recognize their strength and resilience.

History

Vietnamese Women's Day originated at the beginning of the twentieth century when Vietnamese women began to actively participate in social and political activities. The Anti-Vietnamese Women's Association (Vietnam Women's Union) was created on October 20, 1930, to advance women's rights and against gender discrimination. To commemorate this occasion, the Communist Party of Vietnam designated October 20 as the customary day for Vietnamese women. Since then, the day has been observed yearly in Vietnam to honor the significant contributions of women to society.
