The Ho Chi Minh City Hall is a stately old French colonial building. Built-in the early 20th century, it’s only slightly less ornate than the building it’s clearly modeled on–the Hotel de Ville in Paris.
In front of the building is a large statue of Uncle Ho himself, seated, teaching a Vietnamese child. The man who devoted so much of his life to throwing off the yoke of French colonialism now has pride of place in front of this oh-so-French building.
