Lam Kinh Festival is held every year as a great tradition, expressing the gratitude of the next generation to the ancestors who have fought against foreign invaders and built the country. Besides the traditional ceremony, the festival also brings very special performances.
Starting in 1995, Thanh Hoa province has organized the annual Lam Kinh Festival with a solemn provincial scale, this is the biggest festival in Thanh country and one of the biggest festivals in our country.
Lam Kinh festival is held for 3 days, from August 21-23 of the lunar calendar. The ceremony is conducted according to traditional rites, recreating many important events in the Le Dynasty such as performances of festival drums, festival chess, and palanquin processions. Among them are the rituals handed down from the reigns of King Le Thai To, Le Thai Tong, Le Nhan Tong, and Le Thanh Tong.
Incense offering and sacrifice ceremony at the temple of King Le Thai To, the tomb area, the shrines (Tho Xuan district), the temple of Le Lai (Ngoc Lac district), the later Le dynasty shrine, and the Le Loi monument (Thanh Hoa city) will take place in 2 days on the 21st and 22nd of the 8th lunar month. Incense offering ceremony for the death anniversary of Ba Dau on the top of Lam Son Mountain (Dau Mountain) on the 23rd day of the 8th lunar month according to traditional rituals.

Lam Kinh Festival has elaborately invested performances, with the participation of hundreds of artists. The theatrical part recreated the imprints with "Lung Nhai swearing festival", "Le Lai saved Lord", "Liberated Dong Quan citadel", and "Le Thai To was crowned". The performance helps bring people back to the battles and events of the Lam Son uprising.
Lam Kinh festival is also a performance of traditional folk games of Thanh origin such as Xuan Pha, Chieng, Dragon dance, Binh Ngo, Sanh Ngo, and drum festival, ... Xuan Pha - an intangible cultural heritage The country has added specialty to the festival with dances, songs, music or weird masks along with mascot symbols representing the feudal mandarin level. The combination of performances shows the intense vitality and resilience of the performances in the cultural and spiritual life of the people.
