About Thanh Phuoc Village and Thanh Phuoc Village Festival

Thanh Phuoc is a small village located along the Bo River, with Sinh junction in front of it. The view is beautiful and charming. Thanh Phuoc is in the commune of Huong Phong, district of Huong Tra. Every year, the Thanh Phuoc festival is held in commemoration of Lady Ky Thach (the stone goddess) and the village's Emperor, Mr. Phan Niem (who accompanied King Le Thanh Tong to fight Champa, won the battle, and was bestowed the title).

Every year, the festival is held. Every three years, in the years of the Horse, Rooster, Rat, and Rabbit, there is a grand festival. The festival's main day is June 22. The festival lasts three days.

The villagers carefully recounted Mr. Phan Niem's biography. Mr. Phan Niem and his children Phan Duong and Phan Lang accompanied King Le Thanh Tong to fight Champa, won the battle, and were conferred: Special lieutenant general, Do commander Cam Y, stripped of Niem Long Hau., took care of the district government of the Le dynasty were Kim Hoa (later Kim Tra, Huong Tra), Hai Lang, Vo Xuong (later Hai Lang, Trieu Phong).

Thanh Phuoc Village Festival Rituals

The festival lasts three days:

June 21: Villagers' sports and entertainment events, the most important of which is boat racing, with tickets sold to invite friends to race. Racing boats from different communities will participate from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Folk games like as duck wading, rope pulling (male and female), sack leaping, horseback riding to light off firecrackers, volleyball, football, and slow bicycle racing are popular among the villagers.

June 22: High Priest's Day.

The commencement ceremony has begun.

Buddhist ceremony at the Pagoda of Hoang Phuc. The temple is dedicated to Buddha, the god of the region, as well as the twelve religious groups (before to 1975).

After worshiping, the ceremony to burn votive goods (clothing, horses, etc.) is performed at daybreak on June 23. To honor him throughout the holidays, the villages have a rule that young villagers are not permitted to consume alcohol during the three days of the event.
